This blog was a sweet find...I am not sure how I came across it last week, but I am loving every single thing I see on her blog. It probably caught my eye because the logo is the same as White House Black Market (the store) which is one of my favorites. Just wanted to share!

Wreaths...
Yes...I spent some of my weekend making wreaths! Kris was out of town and so it was the perfect time to do a little crafting (I'm a nerd I know). I can just never find a wreath I like that's not WAY over priced, so I've decided that I am going to attempt to make my own from now on. My Mom always used to make the best wreaths when I was growing up (another reason why I wish she was closer to me now) and I know it can be an easy task if you just try.
Here is the Valentine's wreath I made for < $5. All I had to buy was the burlap and I used ribbon I already had and instead of buying wire I just used a couple hangers.
Go here to find the original blog where I found this simple idea and there's detailed instructions too!
I have been wanted to make a yarn wreath for quite awhile and it was rather hard deciding which colors to use, because if you don't already know there is TONS of different yarn colors. Here is what I went with on my first attempt, there will be more attempts and color combos in the future because A) it was SUPER easy, and B) it's SO darn cute! I will say the actual wrapping of the wreath took some time, but the rest was quick.
Go here to find detailed instructions on how to do this. You can search yarn wreaths for tons of color combos and ideas that other people have done. If you didn't already know these things are pretty popular!
P.S. Britt...I'm making you one next!

Stalking is cool...
I follow a lot of blogs (and I mean a lot) and it's kind of become an obsession of mine. I not going to lie about the fact that I have never met, seen, or even talked to most of the bloggers, but their lives are interesting (more than mine) so I like to read about it. Some I follow because they have cool crafty things and I aspire to be like them (working on that daily) and some are my friends who I just like to read about what's going on in their lives (most of which I already know) but I still find it a must read. I wish I had some sort of reason to my blog, but I have yet to find that. I'm venturing into making things for our home, but I am still an amateur for sure. One day I will write about my kids (sooner than later i hope) and the wonderful life we have, but until then I will stick to filling you in on the less than exciting things that are going on in the life of this Coach's wife.

I never knew...
I never knew at 27 years old I would be faced with these things. I've had very little sadness and stuggle in my life thus far and now I feel overloaded. I am happy to say that I have 3 living grandparents, both my parents, my brother and SIL, aunts and uncles, cousins, and now I have Kris and all of his family as well, and most of us are all very healthy. But dealing with a parent who is not is the hardest stuggle I could have ever imagined. I am not one to write or much less talk about my problems very much to anyone outside my family, so this is a stretch. What do you do when you feel like you have done everything you can and it is still not helping? Where do you find the answers for these things? I pray. A lot. More these days than before, but when will I see an answer to those prayers? Have they already been answered? Is this it? I am not the kind of person to sit around and wait for someone else to solve a problem, I want to figure out a solution myself and I usually want it done quickly. So all these emotions that I feel daily are hard to deal with...the worst one is the guilt. I have guilt that I don't have the answers to fix this, I have guilt that I can't quit my job and devote all my time to helping him, and I have guilt that there's more I could be doing everyday.

Weekend Projects...
I have been working on this for awhile now. I have seen this before, or something resembling this in a friend's home and I wanted to recreate it once I had my bouquet. Getting the bouquet here from Mexico was difficult in itself, so I knew once I was able to smuggle that thing across the border I had to do something GREAT with it. Once I dried it for several months and it started to crinkle to pieces I was worried nothing was going to work. I got a shadow box and had my Mom help me get it in there while she was in town and I finally was able to add Kris' bout in there and seal it up. I LOVE being able to have a keepsake like this in our home.
I was able to also bring home one of my bridesmaids bouquets (not sure who left it in my room) and I still have my bouquet from my bridal session in Dallas. I will surely never do anything with these but I do so love to have all the memories. I am still working on other things from our wedding...maybe by the summer (our 1 year anniversary) I will have that completed! We'll see!

A bizarre stocking stuffer...
I actually got Kris this as a joke/stocking stuffer because I am always noticing how extremely awful his undershirts are. Afterall, he is a coach who spends most of the time outside, so it's not his fault but in fact it is pretty gross. I really just expected it to be a bust and be more of a laugh than anything else...but to my surprise it REALLY worked! I wish now I would have taken a before/after picture to prove it but I didn't think of it at the time. Trust me though this stuff works like magic!!

A Broken Bow New Years
Kris and I were invited by my Brother and SIL to stay with a few friends at a cabin in Broken Bow, Ok. Not exactly what you would think of as a NYE celebration, but I was just sick of doing the same old thing for New Years. It was a fun experience and I always like car rides with my hubs. We drove down on Thursday afternoon and had a low key night. Friday we went to a local winery, Girls Gone Wine, (I loved it...Kris...not so much). NYE night we had a fire going in the firepit, grilled out on the grill, and just had a good time with some adult beverages in hand. Oh but wait...I forgot to mention the onesies...(Hope's idea) but they definitely made our NYE night a little more interesting! These couples were a blast and I enjoyed getting to know all of them a little bit better! Our cabin was amazing, and I'd recommend going to Broken Bow if you are looking or a low key kind of vacay.
Here are a few pics from the trip...
