Playoffs: Round 1

This past Saturday Kris' Dad and I drove to Wichita Falls for the 1st round of the playoffs. It was a blow-out and the other team probably shouldn't have been aloud in the playoffs, but that's how they have the brackets laid out so we got through Round 1 with ease.

One thing Kris really doesn't like to do is take pictures...but I made him do it! This was about the 4th try since Kris' Dad was not too savy with my phone and Coach Flo was standing behind him making us laugh, so needless to say Kris was not really into this one!
We're flyin to good ole' Midland, Texas this Saturday for Round 2 against an El Paso team...and if (when) we win we will get to play the remaining rounds at Cowboys Stadium!!! (Excited?? Yes!)

Camels..

So I've been meaning to post a blog all week and it's taken me until today to do it.

Pretty much for the whole football season I either have a game on Friday's or I'm by myself because Kris is scouting, so this last Friday instead of going out and spending time with friends...I FINALLY watched Sex and the City 2! I'm A HUGE SATC fan, so the fact that I never saw this one in the theater was already unusual, so I just couldn't wait until it was on Netflix and had to go rent it at Blockbuster. I had heard it was less than mediocre and not as good as the 1st, and for the most part that's correct. I enjoyed it, because I'm a fan, and that's as good as it gets. I did find it quite hilarious that they ride camels in Abu Dhabi and I have a camel right down the street.

I live in a development, but it's pretty much in the country. We have cows, horses, goats, sheep...right by our house, but who'd of thought one of our close neighbors would get a camel!?!

I've been trying to take a picture of this thing for over a week, but it was always too far away for my camera phone, but this week he/she was eating close to the road so I snapped a photo quick! (this is for you Britt!)

SAFE...The movie premiere

If you know the Hayhurst family then you will not be surprised by what I am about to tell you. Kris and I attended a movie premiere for their first film last night a independant film written and directed by the Hayhurst Family, titles SAFE. My best friend Lindsay who is married to one of the many Hayhurst brother's invited us to go to his movie premiere last night at the Angelica in Plano. When the Hayhurst name is on something you never know what to expect so we were very skeptical going into it, but man were we pleasantly surprised at how good this film was. The purpose of the premiere was to get feedback from close friends and family before they submit it to big time film festivals. It really was a great short film (alittle over an hour) with a very good story line, real actors/actresses, and great background music. It left me wanting more, which you would normally not hear me say for a suspense movie. I am excited to see where this will lead those boys, and I am happy we got to be a part of it! Here are a few photos from the night.

Friday Finds

I am always instantly drawn to all things Vera Bradley, so when I get the emails almost daily I instantly have to look at the content. It usually means there is a new item on sale or they have something new in the collection. (both super cool!) Today was one of those days and I just have to share it. I LOVE finding something that can be the perfect Christmas/Birthday gift for someone who I am stuck on what to get. These are perfect and I can't wait to buy them. I already have specific people in mind (including myself of course!).

Here is the Christmas Ornament that with a couple together could double as a centerpiece on your table in a pretty clear bowl the rest of the year when it's not on your tree. It comes packaged in this cute box too for only $18! And there are several patterns to choose from.
The second is this apron. I don't own an apron but I plan on it real soon. I want this in all the patterns and then I can where a different one every day of the week while I'm cooking up dinner (haha) that would be a perfect world if I actually cooked every night. This comes in a cute package as well for only $28!
Update from the last blog:
It's been a MUCH better week this week for my Dad especially which in turn makes it better for me too! Kris has his last regular football game tonight and we are hoping for an undefeated record heading into playoffs next weekend!!
