My version of back to school...

My good friend Brittney and I have been talking for weeks about her son going back to school and I can't believe the day has come already. I'm not a Mom yet, but I still feel a bit of sadness because these kids are growing up so quick! He is in 1st grade this year and looking like such a BIG kid already. I think the whole uniform thing must make him look older. How cute is he??

Then my good friend Michelle in California sent me a picture this morning of her 2 kiddos in their school uniforms. Kristina and Jimmy are going into 1st and Kinder this year...It's just so hard for me to believe she has 2 kids in school already. I lived in Cali right after Kristina was born and now that seems like forever ago...especially since she is prego with baby #5 right now.

I know this probably shouldn't be the case, but them going to school makes it feel like we are OLD!! The only back to school I can relate to is Kris was going back to school today. He has been back to work for several weeks now, but that was just football. It's almost better for us though because he is not having to get up at 5 am anymore! (:

A Coach's Wife

I'm not very good at keeping up with our blog, I actually just get on to see what's going on in our friends lives and I never post about ours. So I need to get better at that!! I guess I feel it's very boring compared to the lives of our friends with kids and such. We are just 2 boring old married people...no kids...just a dog...oh yea and a cat! There should be a few exciting things to blog about coming up though, so I will do my best! Kris is in full swing with football, and we are ready for the second home game TONIGHT!! It's actually something I really do enjoy...I usually just end up people watching but I get to catch up with Kris' parents and enjoy sitting with them. My Dad has been going as well and they are going to play the video that Jay (Kris' Brother) created for the jumbo screen. Big Time!! This is my first football season as a true Coach's wife, so I am looking forward to that. We have already started planning snacks and such for the team and coaches for every game, so that should be interesting. I had my week last week and I am SO bad because I wanted to take a picture of my finished product and forgot! I made 200 sugar cookies with blue and red icing and then Kris helped me with crock pot chili for the Coach's lunch. My Ryan Raider cheerleader days definitely came in handy there...that's funny to even think about!!

Since I am not much of a picture taker, I guess I will have to start to get better at that so I can have more to post on here. I always think blogs with pictures are WAY better than blogs with just words alone.

I am going to leave you with something funny Kris said to me last night..."Besides our wedding day, and the day our future kids are born...THIS is the best day of my life!" (If you a football loving husband then you know that it was the NFL opening game last night) I am now going to be pretty much husbandless on Sunday's from now until January!
